和上面那个类似，但更强调动作正在进行。就说我热爱读书的朋友，She spends her free time reading books，她用空闲时间读书。强调她正在读书这个动作花了时间。
“Sb. spends money on sth.”间接表时间
这个原本是花费金钱，但也能间接表花费时间，因为花钱购物等也意味着投入了时间。比如我有个爱逛街的朋友，She spends a lot of time shopping，她花很多时间购物。这里买东西要花时间挑、比价等。
灵活运用与选择
这么多表达，得灵活选。要是强调动作过程，就用“spend time (in) doing ”或“Sb. spends some time (in) doing sth.”；要是说在事物上的整体投入，“Sb. spends some time on sth.”合适；客观描述耗时用“It takes sb. some time to do sth.”；若从花钱角度暗示花时间，就用“Sb. spends money on sth.”。
